Sue Rose, herself a poet and amateur musician, has gracefully translated this thrilling novel.

The Critics Praise:
“Philippe Delelis has successfully woven a plot of remarkable originality… a delightful work.” LE MONDE, PARIS
“The novel, constructed in the form of a fugue, is breathtaking, even for one who doesn’t know a black key from a white, or one note from another. No, truly, The Last Cantata is a pure marvel.” LA VOIX DU NORD
“The Last Cantata is heady story of a ‘secret’ contained within a Bach fugue that whosoever discovers runs into deep shit. Of course, a contemporary person does and… Anyway it’s written in the form of a fugue (clever!) and like other Toby titles will no doubt inspire many dissertations…” BULLY MAGAZINE
